A unique installation with our Monorail 250.000 and two GIS AG chainhoists provided by our subsidiary Teleflex B.V., at the Sporthorse Medical Diagnostic Center (SMDC) in Heesch, The Netherlands. SMDC is a veterinary clinic specialising in equine orthopedics.
This simple installation is a perfect example of the variety of applications that our systems can handle. Here the clinic wanted a simple hoist system to transport horses and sporthorses weighing 500-700kgs under anaesthesia to the CT scanner in order to make 3D CT Scans easier and more comfortable to do - for both the animal and the staff.
The animal is placed under general anaesthesia in one of the two waiting stalls, after which it is hooked onto the hoist and carried carefully to the CT scanner where the staff repositions the horse into place, before running the scan. After the procedure is complete, the horse is taken back o the stall where it is slowly brought back to consciousness.
