The most commonly used overhead conveyor system for moving wooden products such as window frames and doors is the manual monorail system. This system is relatively simple, has an equally long service life and requires minimal maintenance.

A typical monorail system consists of sections of rails, pivots and switches in a closed box shape. In order to facilitate the transportation of products, the monorail tracks are equipped with carrier trolleys. These trolleys can be equipped with 2 or 4 wheels with roller bearings, depending on the load, and application and configuration of the load carrier.

Loading and unloading of products are possible using additional lifting and unloading sections.

Sections of the manual monorail system can be automated by means of transfer conveyors in combination with feeding systems. Partial automation is often used when wooden parts have to be moved at a constant speed in an automated painting process, with robots or with automatic sorting of the parts based on input data.

Sophisticated PC/PLC control systems are available to control product direction, processes and data exchange with external computerized production control software systems.
